ABOUT

Hey, thanks for stopping by! Welcome to STET, a website dedicated to emerging writers and their books. At first we were frustrated that there wasn’t a destination online where we could discover work by new and rising voices. So we decided to make our own website about it.

We’re not an app or a social platform for books. We simply hand-pick books or pieces of writing we enjoy the old-fashioned bloggy way. The publishing industry is evolving rapidly and there’s so much to read. Whether a story comes to us from a big publishing house, or exclusively as an e-book, or independently as a self-published zine, or as a mobile subscription-only magazine, we’re here to recommend some stuff you might enjoy.

And of course, we’re generally inspired by all types of scribes which is why we’ll feature wordsmiths and professionals from other creative writing industries as well. So come hang out, stay a while. STET is a safe place.

If you’re a self-published or e-book author and would like us to read your work for review, we’d love to hear from you! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch. (This goes for everyone else, too.) All website inquiries, technical difficulties, feedback, and suggestions can be directed to info[at]stetmag.com.

STET is co-founded by Jinnie Lee and Maura M. Lynch, really great friends.

Logo Design and Identity:

Our logo and brand identity was designed/curated by the incomparable Matt Kay. The typefaces that make up STET are Alternate Gothic BT, Neuzeit S Book Heavy, and Georgia. Thank you, Matt! You’re an arbiter of good taste.

Shout-out to our friend Stephanie for coming up with the name STET. She randomly spit it out while on a G-chat brainstorming frenzy with Jinnie. And you know what, it’s perfect. Thank you, Steph! What would we have ever done without your early support?

Website Design:

Our site was designed, coded, and brought to life by our friend Nick Campolo. We highly recommend him for all your HTML and CSS needs. Thank you, Nick! Also for making fantastic guacamole and providing us with endless bottles of Beck’s at our weekly web meetings.
